Community Offshore Wind Provides STEM Field Trips and Offshore Wind Education for 125 Brooklyn and Long Island Students During National Engineers Week

Community Offshore Wind marked National Engineers Week by partnering with local schools to cultivate an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) topics among students in disadvantaged communities.

Community Offshore Wind Submits Proposal for New York’s Fourth Offshore Wind Solicitation

Community Offshore Wind, a joint venture of RWE and National Grid Ventures, today submitted a proposal to the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to provide New York State with clean energy from 1.3 gigawatts (GW) of new offshore wind capacity, enough to power roughly 500,000 homes.

Community Offshore Wind and Waterfront Alliance Lead Waterfront Cleanup at Valentino Park

To celebrate Earth Month, Community Offshore Wind partnered with The Waterfront Alliance to clean up Valentino Pier in Brooklyn. Community Offshore Wind volunteers joined Waterfront Alliance staff and members of the local community to remove trash and debris polluting the Brooklyn waterfront.

Agency Communications Plan

Our Agency Communications Plan guides our engagement with federal, state, and local agencies throughout the lifetime of the project. Our team is committed to developing respectful and collaborative relationships with each agency and recognizes that early, often and meaningful engagement is critical to developing a successful working relationship that is built on trust and mutual understanding.


New York Bight Joint Native American Tribes Communication Plan

We recognize Tribes and Tribal Nations as stewards of the lands and waters of the NY Bight region. We acknowledge and respect their sovereignty, as well as the enduring cultural and personal connections that Tribes and Tribal Nations have to the region. The insights and knowledge of Tribes and Tribal Nations can and should play an important role in the clean energy transition, to help ensure offshore renewable energy is developed in an environmentally, socially, and culturally sensitive manner. Our Joint Native American Tribes Communication Plan (Joint NATCP) was developed with all New York Bight lessees and guides our engagement with federally recognized Tribes and Tribal Nations throughout the lifetime of the project.
